Harry Jack's Christmas Program
This morning Harry Jack had a little Christmas program at his preschool. His music teachers put on the cutest program. Just the right length (15 minutes), and LOADED with sweetness to make all the Mom's and Dad's want to cry. Hearing a bunch of children singing "Happy Birthday Jesus" will, for sure, get those nasolacrimal ducts a'flowin.
What a little man! I have now decided that Harry Jack truly is a "Smiley Eyes", just like his Grand Daddy!

Weekend Wrap Up
This past week was busy, but fun. On Wednesday afternoon Danny's parents flew in for a few days. (Margaux trying to wiggle out of the picture. That stinker girl!)
Thursday morning we were all up early and out the door by 6:45 am for a 7:00 Christmas breakfast at my father's direct mail plant.

The children loved this because they got to go to school a hour late.
My sister Dawn is behind Santa. She is better known as Top Dawg, and is my dad's Top Dawg at Mail America! She truly is a hard worker and this Christmas breakfast would not have been such a success without her.
My Dad and Santa bringing bonus checks to the employees!!!! After looking at this picture, I cannot figure out what that dome shaped thing is, with hair on it. Is it the back or front of an employee's head. Dawn, can you figure this out????
It was almost time for Danny and the children to leave for school when Dolly stepped on a package of Ketchup and it squirted all over Danny's pants! So funny! We laughed until some of us cried and probably wet our pants! I am laughing now thinking of it. I think my mom and Dolly's husband, Leland, laughed the hardest. Poor Danny! He was a good sport. And I am happy to say, all the ketchup came out!

On Thursday evening Donna and her children came in town. On Saturday we 5 sisters met up at Dawn's house to bake cookies, talk and RELAX by the fire! It was great!
Sunday, since my parents were out of town we all met up at their house after church to eat brunch and chill out by the fire. LOVELY afternoon!
This morning, we had a little ice and schools were delayed 2 hours. A very nice gift this morning to top off a great weekend!

It's the last week of school. Exam week. Just a few more days and then this guy is home with me for 4 weeks! Life is good!

Maddie's Big Dreams
For the past few years our Maddie girl has had 3 dreams (wishes).
First, to move back to the 'burg.
Second, to attend LCA.
Third, to be in our churches Christmas program.
Can I tell you how happy Danny and I are knowing this year we were able to make all her dreams come true! Fulfilling your child's dreams makes a parent feel really good!
This Fall Maddie's last dream came true when she found out she made it! She was picked to be in our church's Christmas program. You see, this is not just any program. You have to try out to be in it. You have to sing, act and dance in front of a few judges. And I'm not kidding when I say there are easily a few hundred cast and crew. It's somewhat like a Broadway type show. Very cool!
Anyway, enough of all that. Forgive me. We're proud! Below are some pictures of our day today. Pictures of our Maddie girl, fulfilling her third dream.
Waiting for the show to start...

I guess it is time for Maddie to get a few more dreams!

We saw this guy sneaking down the side of the church.
Margaux was a little bit surprised to see him there! Little does she know that it is the same Santa Claus that comes to see her at Grammy and Grand Daddy's house every Christmas Eve (check out the Santa Claus 2007 link on the sidebar).

Happy Thanksgiving Birthday Harry Jack and Jane!
Of all the Thanksgivings I have ever celebrated, none is more special than this Thanksgiving Day 2009. Today is the day my Harry Jack and sweet baby Jane were born.
Happy 1st Birthday to my precious baby Jane! And, Happy Birthday to my
sweet "smiley eyes" Harry Jack! Oooh, I love you so much!
One sweet story about Harry Jack...I was due with Jane on December 4. The last few months of my pregnancy Harry Jack would say to me, "Momma? When are you gonna get that baby out of your tummy?" He was so sweet and I would look at him and say, "Sweet boy, on your birthday?" I was just being silly, and never realized the plans God had for Harry's birthday last year.
Enjoy the slide show below. Hopefully tonight I will post some pictures of their party!
Happy Thanksgiving to you, my blog friends. And, also Happy Birthday to Danny's sister Debbie, and our friends Susan and Lauryn who share this day with my little ones!

Thanksgiving Break, BRING IT!
This afternoon around 4 o'clock, when Danny finishes teaching, our Thanksgiving break officially begins! Can I tell you how excited I am !!!!

Both Danny and the children have off from school for a whole week. Ordinarily I would be like, "Eeahh, the children have off school for a week and I have to entertain them." But not now. Not since we are back in the 'burg. That is what is great about being a teacher. Just about every day the children have off school, Danny does too! It is so nice!
So, back to how excited I am about Thanksgiving Break. To kick things off, last night I pulled an all night'er and tried to be like my friends who constantly make things for their children's teachers.

I made SEVEN batches of mini Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins, and placed them in cute little Martha Stewart boxes for a total of 12 teachers, one third grade class, and the Psychology Department at LU.
(And, just for you snoopers who click on the pictures to make them bigger and see all the details, this box of muffins if for a sweet lady named Mrs. Ray, who has worked in the LCA business office since before my beginnings here in the 'burg, 30 years ago.)
So, again, back to my excitement. Words cannot express how happy we are to be "back home (in Lynchburg) were our story began." There is so much comfort here, so much tradition, so much family life. And with the Christmas season just about here, we are thrilled. It was music to my ears this past week when I heard my Danny say, "It just feels more like Christmas here." Indeed it does!
So on our schedule this coming week:
4. Taking Tom Turkey to the attic and bringing down my $7.50, 90% off Christmas tree from the end season sale last year--thanks to my friend Ginger!

So now I've gotta run. I need to make some mashed potatoes and pecan bars for a 3rd grade Thanksgiving feast!
All I've gotta say is, Thanksgiving Break? BRING IT!
